Case Study Assignments
With your given Case, you and your partners will research the case, and prepare a short Presentation using Google SLIDES, following the guidelines below:
o 4 minutes in length
o Story of the case (be sure to include essentials such as date, location, type of crime, etc)
o Evidence presented at trial (include how this evidence is properly packaged)
o Forensic technique used & explanation of that technique
o Outcome of the case
o How the methods would be modified & updated using modern forensic techniques
o Each presentation must have visual aids that apply directly to the case for each slide

Aim of the Assignment:
To show the challenge that the Grand Jury faces when it comes to making a final decision based on valid information presented from both sides of a case.
Directions: You will utilize the internet and REPUTABLE sources to provide a clear, non-biased, fact-filled case brief involving the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. As a class, we will research, collect, organize, and present the information needed to understand this very public trial which has dominated the media in the past few weeks. You and your partners will prepare a brief presentation of your findings using Google.
Assigned Roles:
Group 1: Research and collect all information regarding the crime scene: location, size, those present, etc.
Group 2: Research the evidence that had been collected in support and favor of Brown (the prosecutor). Be sure to include the experts that were brought in, the tests that were performed, and the way the information was presented to the Grand Jury.
Group 3: Research the evidence that had been collected in support and favor of Wilson (the defendant). Be sure to include the experts that were brought in, the tests that were performed, and the way the information was presented to the Grand Jury.
Group 4: Research, preview, and choose at least 2 media clips that present the information of the case to the common public. Be sure the clips are thorough, information, and accurate.
Group 5: Research, collect, and present the evidence that had been collected from eye witnesses and interviews. Be sure to mention why such people were interviewed, focusing on if the information was consistent from person to person.
Group 6: Research the information gained from the physical evidence of Brown's body. Be sure to mention the tests that were performed, the method of autopsy, and the results that were gained from the autopsy.
Group 7: Provide a Thorough and complete reasoning for Decision that resulted in the Grand Jury. Mention the details of the choice made.
