The following diagram labels the parts of the microscope. You will need to understand the names of the parts, and know how to use the microscope.
Taxonomy
Dichotomous keys are used to help identify organisms based on observable physical features. It uses TWO categories that the scientist can saw YES or NO (the organism has that feature or does not have that feature)
Common Life Processes that All Living Organisms undergo...
- Nutrition: obtaining food and breaking it down into a usable form
- Transport: carrying wastes away from cells; nutrients are delivered to all the cells in an organism
- Synthesis: chemical reactions that use digested parts of food to make materials needed for the organism
- Respiration: the release and storage of energy from food; usually required oxygen
- Excretion: removal of Liquid and gaseous cell wastes by life activities
- Regulation: the control and coordination of all life functions (HOMEOSTASIS); response to an organism to changes in its environment
- Growth: an increase in the size or number of cells; can asue a change in the organisms appearance
- Reproduction: to make an organism of the same kind; Necessary for the survival of the species
